1 Day hot air balloon safari and Lake Ihema boat cruise
At a location of your choice in Kigali city, you will make your way to Akagera National Park to participate in the hot air balloon safari which will give you rewarding views of the park from an aerial view. The hot air balloon safari in Akagera National Park can either be carried out in the morning or the afternoon so depending on your preference you can choose one that fits your interest. On reaching the park, you will set off to Kayitaba point in Akagera National Park where the hot air balloon safaris take off from. The activity starts as early as 5am but its adjustable depending on the sunrise time. At the point you will be taken through the rules and regulations for the activity, the instructions to follow as you prepare for the safari. After the preparations embark on the experience as you enter the basket and begin your flight. during the experience enjoy the aerial view of the park watching a number of rewarding attractions like the different herbivores grazing within the plains, you will enjoy the calmness of the park as you enjoy the beautiful views of the sunrise over lake Ihema. The experience is finished with popping a bottle of champagne or enjoy a wild breakfast, you will also receive a certificate of participation signed by the pilot. You will have a short game drive to watch a number of animals like the big five animals in Rwanda, you will appreciate the beauty of the park on land too after watching it from an aerial view. After the game drive, you will have lunch at a picnic spot and later on participate in the boat cruise on Lake Ihema which will give you the chance to watch akagera national park on water which will give you a different perspective of Akagera National Park. With the boat cruise on lake ihema, you will watch animal species as they take dips in the water. You will watch a number of bird species like the endangered shoe bill stork, African King fishers catching their prey from the Lake that live around the lake and the surrounding swamps. After the safari experience, connect with your guide to transfer you back to Kigali city where you will be dropped off at a location of your choice in Kigali city and the end of your 1 day hot air balloon safari and lake ihema boat cruise.
