1 Day Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda : As early as 4am, you will be picked up by your guide who will transfer you to volcanoes national park where you will get to access the Virunga mountains in Rwanda; mount muhabura, mount sabyinyo, mount gahinga, mount sabyinyo, mount bisoke and mount karisimbi that you will have to hike to access a given gorilla family that you’re assigned to observe their behavior. On reaching the park, you will participate in the briefing session of your gorilla trekking experience in Rwanda and later you will be assigned to a ranger and guide who will ensure you have a memorable safari experience in Rwanda.
Your gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes National Park will take between 2-8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas because they are quite mobile species that do not settle in one place and build nests every night. While hiking the Virunga mountains, you will get to watch a number of attractions like the numerous bird species like the Albertine endemic species like Batis Dusky turtle love, paradise flycatcher, archer’s ground robin, African Rwenzori, double collared sunbird, marsh harrier, Ruwenzori turaco, common moorhen Ruwenzori night jar, grey throated tit, the dusky crimson wing, red-faced woodland warbler you will also get to watch a number of primates like the Hamlyn’s monkey, vervet monkey, Mona monkey, dent’s monkey and many more.
Once you get to a gorilla family, you will get to spend an hour with the gorillas observing a number of their different features in the wild like how they co-exist with one another, you will also watch the silver back who has all the mating rights with the females, take pictures and ask as many questions as possible and once your one hour elapses with the gorillas, you will descend the mountain and the be presented a gorilla trekking certificate then you will make your way back to Kigali having lunch en-route and later be dropped off at allocation of your choice in Kigali city or Kigali international airport and the end of your Rwnada safari.
