Detailed itinerary of your safari
Day 1: Transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport
Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be welcomed by a representative of our tour company to welcome you to Kenya. Depending on the time you make your way to the park, you will get to participate in a Nairobi city tour you will get the opportunity to visit some shopping centers, city walks, you will get to visit the Maasai villages where you will interact with the locals to understand more about their rewarding cultures, you will get to purchase their souvenirs, cultural attires and so on. After the experience, head back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Transfer to Maasai Mara
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will connect with your guide to transfer to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. The reserve is the ultimate destination for travelers who are interested in participating in the wildlife safaris in Kenya. The drive to the Maasai Mara will give you exceptional views of the fast-paced Kenyans while driving to the reserve. The reserve is famous for housing over 8000 animals, including the big five animals; the leopards, buffaloes, rhinos, lions and leopards and herbivores like the bushbucks, elands, gazelles and wildebeest and many other attractions. It should be noted that the Maasai Mara National Reserve is the most notable destination for the wildebeest migration. You will also get to visit the Maasai Mara village as you make your way to the reserve and when you get to it, you will participate in a short game drive watch a number of animal species and later on make your way to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3-5: Full day game drives following the wildebeest migration
On these days, day 3-5, you will get to participate in the game drives in Maasai Mara national reserve you will wake up early to an early morning breakfast and then embark on the game drives in Maasai mara national reserve following the wildebeest migration through the park. if you’re lucky enough, you will get to watch in the spectacular Mara River crossing which will give you the chance to watch over a million wildebeest crossing the river from Serengeti National Park. The herds can be seen facing off with the crocodiles, lions and other predators as they fight to make their way to the savannah plains searching for green pastures and water.

Day 6: Transfer to Nairobi city and fly to Kigali city
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will make your way to Nairobi city, where you will be dropped off at the airport to catch your next flight to Kigali city. On reaching, you will be transferred to Hotel des mille collines for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park and canopy walk
In the morning, you will be picked by the driver from your hotel in Akagera and driven southwards to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Along the way, you will make a stopover at the king’s palace in Nyanza, have lunch and later in the afternoon, you will go on a walking trail that will take you to the Canopy Walk swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees. You will be able to see the amazing rainforest with a bird’s eye view, spotting wildlife moving about below you there after connect to your accommodation to spend the evening at leisure Nyungwe top hill view hotel (can be used as both mid-range and luxury accommodation)
Day 8: Full day birding in Nyungwe
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will then embark on your full day birding experience in Nyungwe National Park which will take you on the Karamba birding trail, a trail notable for birding in Nyungwe National Park. Some of the bird species that can be seen include: the blue turaco, Ross’s turaco, coqui Francolin, long tailed cisticola, bubbling cisticola, Miombo wren warbler, Chubb’s cisticola, among other bird species and many other rewarding attractions. After the experience, head to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 9: Transfer to Volcanoes NP
Have breakfast and connect to have the cultural experience offered by the park, get to interact with the local community around the park and exit the park to connect to Volcanoes National Park via Kigali. You will have lunch from Kigali and continue to Ruhengeri town for the night in anticipation of the gorilla trek the following day. Day 10: Birding in Volcanoes National Park
Wake up early, have breakfast and participate in the full day birding experience in Volcanoes National Park. the safari experience will give you access to over 350 bird species in Rwanda. Some of the birds that you will get to watch in the forests along the Virunga mountains include; the long-crested eagle handsome Francolin, Rwenzori Batis Dusky turtle love, paradise flycatcher, archer’s ground robin, African Rwenzori, double collared sunbird, marsh harrier, Ruwenzori turaco, common moorhen Ruwenzori night jar, grey throated tit, the dusky crimson wing, red-faced woodland warbler etc. After the experience, head back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 11: Gorilla trekking and departure
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, transfer to the habituated golden monkey troop, you will see a number of primate species like dent’s monkey, vervet monkey and the black and white colobus monkeys among other monkey species swinging in the tree branches as you get to the habituated gorilla family, you will have the chance to see a number of rewarding aspects of the gorillas observing a number of features that you will find fascinating about the primates for instance their feeding patterns, the co-existence with one another among other memorable aspects. At the climax of your time with the gorillas, you will take pictures with and after you will have lunch en route to Kigali and if you have more time you may visit the Kimironko market to purchase some local souvenirs for the people back home and also get to interact with the community.
