4 days Akagera national park safari : This is a Rwanda Safari that will take you through Akagera National Park where you do various Rwanda wildlife Safari activities such as game drives , boat cruise on Lake Ihema and dive in to a Hot air Balloon
Day 1: Transfer to Akagera national park and Ihema Boat Cruise.
You will be met by your driver guide at your agreed location in Kigali to transfer to Akagera national park the home to the big five animals in Rwanda where you will arrive in time to embark on the late afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema where you will see game like hippopotamuses, Crocodiles and many bird species that live around the lake and the surrounding swamps, during your boat cruise, you will get to watch a number of water birds in the park to make your safari experience quite memorable and the notable bird species that can be seen include the King fishers catching fish from the lake, you will get to see the endangered shoe bill stork and many other rewarding tourist attractions. After the rewarding attraction, head back to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Early morning game drive and evening game drive
On the 2nd day of your 4 days Akagera national park safari, Rise up early and go for a game drive with great anticipation of seeing the different animals which rise early to graze and predators like the lions, hyenas, leopards and many more looking for their early morning kill. After the game drive, return to connect with your driver guide and drive back to your lodge for lunch. After lunch, you spend the rest of your afternoon relaxing as you await the evening game drive at your lodge and later in the evening you will meet up with your guide and embark on an evening game drive in the park. Get to watch wildlife animals as they return to their dens for the night. Later drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Rusizi tented camp (Luxury)
Day 3: Behind the Scenes Tour and Afternoon Community Tour
Have breakfast at your lodge in the morning and head out for a behind the scenes tour in Akagera national park. Get on the management of the park for additional insights into Akagera park, where you will meet employees at the park while learning about exciting conservation developments in Akagera. This activity takes 1½ hours. Return back to your lodge for lunch. Later in the afternoon you will embark on a community cultural tour to one of the local communities neighboring the park. Get an opportunity to interact with the friendly locals and watch dance and singing performances from the local dance troupe. You can also visit some craft stalls in the community and support the local community by purchasing a few souvenirs for yourself and loved ones. After the experience you will head back to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Hot Air Balloon Tour and Transfer Back to Kigali.
On the 4th day of your 4 days Akagera national park safari, Wake up in the morning and enjoy your last day in Akagera national park. If you wish, you can opt for a hot air balloon tour in the park. This activity starts at 5am in the morning and takes about 1-2 hours. Get to experience the serenity of flight together with amazing views of the park as you also watch the sun rise over Lake Ihema and view a variety of wildlife from the sky.
This tour ends with champagne after landing and you receiving your flight certificate to show your participation in the activity. Your driver/guide will drive back to Kigali where you will be dropped off at a hotel of your choice or Kigali international airport in case you have a flight to catch back home. You can do a city tour on this day if you didn’t get to do it on your first day. End of Tour.
