Trip description
Day 1: Leave Kigali for Volcanoes national park
Your driver guide will be waiting at your agreed pick up location to welcome you and brief you on the next few days on your Uganda Rwanda wildlife tour. After exchanging pleasantries, you will drive to connect to your first stopover at the Kigali Genocide memorial and the Kimironko market for your Kigali city tour.
Have lunch and head out to Musanze to check into your accommodation in Volcanoes national park to rest and anticipate for the next day’s activity of gorilla trekking.

Day 2: Mountain gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park
Wake up as early as 6 am for your gorilla trekking activity in Volcanoes national park Rwanda. As soon as you are done having your breakfast at the hotel, drive to the park offices where the ranger guides will be waiting to give you a brief on the code of conduct while in the forest searching for the mountain gorillas. Mountain gorilla trekking in Volcanoes usually takes about 2 to 5 hours depending on how far into the forest the gorillas are.
Spend an hour upon reaching the gorilla family of the day as they go about their daily routine and after return to the trailhead where your driver guide will be waiting to take you back to your hotel for lunch. Later in the evening, you will connect to the Iby’iwachu cultural center for your cultural tour of the Rwandan culture. Drive back to your hotel in time for dinner and spend the second night as the night before.
Day 3: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National park
Wake up to a sumptuous breakfast served at your hotel and check out of your hotel to set out to cross into Uganda via the katuna border. This is a 6-hour drive so you will have an enroute lunch and continue on your transfer through the countryside of the countries.
Arrive at your hotel in Queen Elizabeth national park in the early evening hours, be welcomed with a cold glass of juice and check into your room that will be your home for the next few nights.

Day 4: Morning game drive and Kazinga channel launch cruise
Wake up in the wee hours of the day with an anticipation of the game drive on the Queen Elizabeth savannah plains. You will grab a cup of coffee and head out to explore the game that the park has to offer. Get to see the tree climbing lions, elephants, rhino, buffaloes and the smaller game like the antelopes. Also spot some birdlife on this game drive so ensure to carry your binoculars if interested in the birds.
After the game drive, you will drive back to your hotel to rest as you wait for the sun to cool abit. Later in the afternoon, you will drive to the Kazinga channel for your launch cruise. The launch cruise on the Kazinga channel gives you the opportunity to catch the aquatic life of Queen Elizabeth national park like the crocodiles and the largest numbers of hippos in Africa can be seen on this launch cruise. Great spot for birding too! Drive back to your hotel for dinner and second night in the park.
Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking in Kalinzu forest- Queen Elizabeth national park
Chimpanzees are early risers so you will be expected to be up by 5 am and ready to set out to the starting point for the chimpanzee trekking in Kalinzu forest. The Kalinzu forest is one of the destinations where you can trek chimpanzees. Right after your pre trek brief, set out into the forest in search of the chimpanzees whose sounds you will hear right from when you enter the forest. You will see the chimpanzees swinging from tree branch to another and after exit the forest to connect back to your hotel to spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Dinner will be served and you will spend the third night in Queen Elizabeth national park Uganda.
Day 6: Lake Katwe crater visit, Community cultural visit and evening game drive
Wake up for a tasty breakfast prepared at your hotel and after set out for the lake Katwe crater lake visit where you will interact with the locals who carry out salt mining at the site. Very educative activity! Continue to visit one of the community projects run by the local people living around the park and get involved in their daily running of things.
Drive back to your hotel for lunch and you wait for the sun to set. Your safari driver guide will be waiting to take you on your evening game drive that gives you a chance to catch the animals you may have missed out on the previous game drive. Enjoy the night views in the park and drive back to your hotel in time for dinner and another night in Queen Elizabeth national park Uganda.
Day 7: Connect to Entebbe international airport
Wake up at leisure but in time for breakfast. Right after breakfast, you will drive to start your transfer to Entebbe for drop off. You will have a stopover at the Equator for a photo moment and an experiential tour and continue further with an enroute lunch. You will arrive in Entebbe in the evening hours and you will advise on your preferred drop off point.
