Day 1: Arrival in Kenya
Greetings from Kenya: On day 1 of your 8-day Kenya Wildlife & Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari, you will be welcomed and picked up by our business representative in Kenya, who will give you a briefing before driving you to your Nairobi hotel for supper and overnight at Red Buffalo House/ The Concord Hotel/ Karen Gables.
Day 2: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve
Transfer to Mara: After breakfast, check out of the hotel and be taken to the wildness of Kenya’s most magnificent savanna habitat, where the film Out of Africa was shot. Upon arriving at the park, you will be taken on a thrilling game drive to see many of the animal species that make this magnificent park so exciting. You will be rewarded with an encounter and beautiful views of a big migration if you visit during the months of June, July, August, September, October, and September. Day 3 & 4: Game Viewing in Masai Mara National Reserve
Game Viewing in Mara: In this 8-day Kenya Wildlife & Rwanda Gorilla Trekking safari, two days are set aside to thoroughly explore the finest of Masai Mara national park. Each of these days will begin with an early breakfast, followed by a packed lunch and a full day spent on a game drive around the park, spotting a variety of park residents such as wildebeests, cheetahs, zebras, gazelles, lions, impalas, elands, and a variety of bird species, among others. On a full board basis, dinner and sleep will be at the lodge mentioned above.
Day 5: Game Drive & Fly to Rwanda.
Game Drive & Fly to Rwanda: Game Drive & After breakfast, go on another exciting game drive in Masai Mara, which will be your final excursion in the park. Return to the resort for lunch before departing Masai Mara for a drive to Nairobi, where you will board a flight to Kigali International Airport in Rwanda. Dinner and overnight at Step Town/Ubumwe/Kigali Serena.
Day 6: Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Volcanoes national park
City Tour and Drive to Volcanoes: Meet your driver for a Kigali city tour after breakfast on day 6 of your 8-day Kenya Wildlife & Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari. You will see Kigali Genocide Memorial sites, artisan stores, Kimironko market, and many other sights in Kigali city. After your city tour, eat lunch before continuing on to Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda’s only park where endangered mountain gorillas may be hiked. You’ll arrive late in the evening, check into your lodge for supper, and then rest up for the next day’s excursion. Overnight stay at Muhabura Lodge/Le Bambou/5 Volcanoes.

Day 7: Mountain Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park
On day 7 of your 8-day Kenya Wildlife & Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari: Wake up early and meet your safari driver for a drive to the ark headquarters of Volcanoes National Park, located at the base of the Virunga Mountains, where you will receive a briefing on Gorilla trekking dos and don’ts before entering the forest to begin your search for the endangered mountain gorillas. Following the briefing, you may hire a porter and begin the forest trek via several routes in search of habituated gorillas. More gorillas are hiked at Uganda’s Mgahinga gorilla national park, Bwindi impenetrable national park, and the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Virunga national park, making them the only four sites in the world where endangered mountain gorillas may be trekked in their natural habitats. Today’s trip lasts approximately 2-7 hours, but includes just 1 hour of intimate encounters with gorillas before returning to your resort for a relaxing lunch. Later in the evening, take a walk to Burera and Ruhondo Twin Lakes or join a cultural tour of Iby’iwacu Cultural Village. Drive back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight.
Day 8: Departures
Departure: Have a leisurely breakfast at your lodge before checking out and departing on a drive back to Kigali with an enroute lunch before being dropped off at a hotel or airport. End of 8 Days Kenya Wildlife & Rwanda wildlife safari.
