Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
Upon your arrival, you will be picked up by the driver from your hotel in Kigali and driven southwards to Nyungwe Forest National Park. You will have a stopover in Butare, where you will visit the king’s palace in Nyanza to have a look at the culture of the people of Rwanda, the main focus being on the royal history. You will be impressed by the unique architecture, royal artifacts, the milk house, the beer house, and so on. After the safari experience, make your way to the park and check into your hotel. Day 2: Full day birding and departure
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will transfer to Nyungwe National Park to embark on the hike to the Karamba birding trail. The trail is home to 400 bird species. This 4-kilometre-long destination is relatively flat, making hiking quite easy and accessible to birders. This will give you access to bird species like the Albertine bird species like the Great Blue Turaco, the Yellow-eyed Black fly catcher, the sun birds, and many other bird species. After the safari experience, you will connect with the guide who will transfer you back to Kigali city, where you will be dropped off at a location of your choice, and this will mark the end of your 2 days birding in Nyungwe National Park.
