While participating in this 2 days Nyiragongo safari from Goma you will get to hike mount Nyiragongo hike which will give you the chance to observe a number of rewarding attractions in the park as you make your way to mount Nyiragongo, the home to the world’s largest lava lake that can be found on the summit of the Mountain for an amazing Congo Safaris.
Day 1: Nyiragongo Hiking
You will depart Gisenyi/ Goma early morning and cross the Congo boarder by 7am to meet your driver guide at the Grande Barrier where you will check in by purchasing of Visas and other check in requirements. Report to Bukima post and start your Nyiragongo hike while participating in mount Nyiragongo hike, you will have exceptional views of the park which will give you the chance to watch a number of attractions from the numerous bird species like the Albertine endemic species Pockefellers’s sun bird, Chapin’s flycatcher, Rwenzori Batis, strange weaver, red throated alethe among other bird species.
You can also have a chance to see 11 species of the Guinea Congo Forest biome, and a number of other bird species like the blue turaco, Ross’s turaco, coqui Francolin, long tailed cisticola, bubbling cisticola, Miombo wren warbler, Chubb’s cisticola. You will also get the chance to watch a number of primate species, a number and many other attractions in Virunga National Park. after you get to the summit you will take pictures of the Lava Lake, you overnight at the summit.
Day 2: Descend Nyiragongo & transfer to Goma
On the 2nd day of your 2 days Nyiragongo safari from Goma, After breakfast at the summit, you will descend Nyiragongo back to Bukima by 11am and depart Congo transferring to Goma for drop off and the end of your 2 days mount Nyiragongo Safari.
