With this 4 Days Gishwati Mukura and Akagera National Park Safari will give you the chance to participate in both the primate safaris in Rwanda and the wildlife safaris in Rwanda. With your safari in Akagera National Park, you will participate in the game drives, which will give you the chance to track the big five animals in Rwanda and over 60 mammal species, which will give you the chance to enjoy driving through the endless savannah plains. When you get to Gishwati Mukura national park, you will participate in chimpanzee trekking which will give you the chance to spend an hour with the species observing the habituated chimpanzee troops that you will get to spend time with the species that you will get to access as you embark on chimpanzee trekking in Gishwati Mukura national park and other activities that will make your Rwanda safari quite rewarding.
Day 1: Transfer to Lake Kivu and transfer to Gishwati Mukura National Park
At a location of your choice in Kigali city or any other city in the country, you will be picked up by your guide for your safari to transfer to Lake Kivu. During your transfer to the lake, you will get to have a stopover at the king’s palace at Nyanza and later make your way to Lake Kivu. On reaching the lake, you will get to participate in the boat cruise on Lake Kivu. Exploring the lake will give you a breathtaking experience as you observe the neighboring hills, diverse bird species, and a number of rewarding attractions. This 1-hour safari experience will give you the utmost experience as you enjoy the boat ride along the lake, enjoying the cool breeze for a memorable safari experience. After the rewarding experience, you will make your way to Gishwati Mukura National Park, where you will arrive in time for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Kigali
Wake up early in the morning, have breakfast, and with your packed lunch, you will make your way to the park to participate in chimpanzee trekking in Gishwati Mukura National Park. With chimpanzee trekking in the park, you will have the opportunity to hike through the forest, which will give you several different attractions, from the primates to the different bird species, and so on. When you get to the habituated chimpanzee troop, you will get to spend an hour with the species, taking pictures of the species, you will watch how the species interact with one another, you will get to take their pictures and so on and in case of any questions about the species, you can ask your safari guide to give you all the relevant information. After the safari experience, you will head back to Kigali city, where you will be dropped off at your hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Hotel des Mille Collines.
Day 3: transfer to Akagera National Park, boat cruise, and a night game drive
After an early morning breakfast, you will transfer you to Akagera National Park to take part in a short game drive which will give you the chance to watch several animal species like the early risers grazing and enjoying the morning sun. After the morning game drive, you will head to your hotel for relaxation, lunch and you will take part in the boat cruise of Lake Ihema which will give you access to several rewarding views and attractions like the endangered show bill stork you will access to several carnivores like the lions, leopards and many more species or stay at your hotel to participate in a night game drive which will give you the chance to watch how the park comes to life when the sun sets. During the safari experience, you will get to watch carnivores like the lions and leopards hunting, which is quite a memorable safari experience you should not miss out on. After the experience, head to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay
Day 4: Full day game drive and departure
Rise up early in the morning, have breakfast, and go for a morning game drive with great anticipation of seeing the different animals which rise early to graze and predators looking for their early morning kill, especially the big cats like the leopard, lions, and many other carnivores. You will get to watch a number of herbivores like the rhinos grazing within the plains, elephants, gazelle, oribi, and many other rewarding game animals. After the morning game drives, you will head back to your hotel for refreshments and later in the afternoon, transfer to take part in the evening game drive. Get ready to watch how the park comes to life as the sunsets, with several predators coming from their hiding spots to catch prey, the herbivores catching their last bite for the day, the crocodiles can be seen sun-basking, and elephants quenching their thirst from the river banks, which will make your safari quite memorable. After the experience, you will make your way back to Kigali city, where you will be dropped off at a location of your choice, and this will mark the end of your safari experience.
