Detailed Itinerary 7 Days Epic Rwanda Safari.

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

Board your international aircraft to Kigali, Rwanda’s capital. When you arrive, you will be quickly accompanied by our agent, who will transport you to your preferred accommodation. Because it is your first day, you will have plenty of time to see Rwanda’s vibrant capital.

You’ll get the chance to explore the lively local markets and the Caplaki Craft Co-operative, which houses local artisans in wooden huts. Handicrafts will be available for purchase, including jewellery, paintings, batik, textiles, wood carvings, traditional masks, baskets, purses, scarves, and beading.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Following breakfast, you will be taken through breathtaking countryside to Nyungwe National Park in Rwanda’s hilly southwest. The park’s rain forest is home to chimps and monkeys, as well as a variety of wildlife and butterflies.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk

Today, you’ll go on a guided trip through Nyungwe National Park’s deep forest in search of chimps. This is an incredible nature experience on park with gorilla tracking. While the walk is undeniably interesting, it can also be difficult since the chimpanzees are incredibly active and are constantly racing around in the canopies, moving from one location to another.

Canopy Walkway in Nyungwe National Park

You’ll also get the chance to walk the Canopy Walkway, a 200-meter bridge hung between huge trees 50 meters above the jungle, while visiting Nyungwe National Park. The boardwalk provides spectacular views of the upper canopy and is ideal for observing animals. Many of the primates reside in trees, so you’ll have a greater chance of finding them if you go down the path. It is also an excellent time to see the forest’s birds and butterflies. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 4: Transfer to Lake Kivu

Today, you’ll leave Nyungwe and go to your next destination, which will be on the beautiful sands of Lake Kivu. Relax on the beautiful palm-fringed beaches, kayak on the lake’s quiet waters, or take a boat cruise to adjacent islands or coffee and banana plantations. You may also go for a trek in the nearby hills or visit the Imbabazi Orphanage. Dinner and overnight at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel.

Day 5: Lake Kivu- Volcanoes National Park

Following a full breakfast at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel, you’ll be taken from Lake Kivu to Parc National des Volcans (Volcanoes National Park), a four-hour trip through spectacular countryside. When you arrive at your lodging, you will be briefed on the next gorilla hike.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking

After an early breakfast, you’ll travel to Kinigi, in the Parc National des Volcans, at the foothills of the Virungas, to begin your walk. Your tracker and guide will take you deep into the bush in search of your designated gorilla family. Depending on the exact location of the gorilla family you’re following, your walk might last anywhere from 30 minutes to eight hours.

When you meet the gorillas, you will have the opportunity to spend up to an hour simply studying them. The gorillas are likely to be only a few meters away from you, and they will continue to go about their everyday lives, eating and associating with one another, all while the silverback keeps a close eye on them.

You’ll be transported back to your accommodation late in the afternoon, where you can spend the evening reminiscing on your remarkable experience with Rwanda’s wild mountain gorillas.
