Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is Uganda’s National Park located in the southwestern part of Uganda, in Kanungu District near Kanungu town. This Park covers an area size of 331 square kilometers and is part of the larger Bwindi Impenetrable forest which extends into the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda. The park was established in 1991 and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994 due to its significance for gorilla conservation.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is renowned for its rich Biodiversity, and population of mountain gorillas that are over 459 meaning it hosts almost half of the world’s remaining population of mountain gorillas including several habituated groups that can be tracked. However, besides the gorillas, this park is home to other primates species over 120 such as Chimpanzees, elephants, Lhotse’s monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, white and Black colobus monkeys and more.350 Bird Species such as the African Green Broadbill, Grauer’ss rush warbler, Shelley’s Crimsoning, Black bee-eater, Rwenzori Turaco, African Emerald cuckoo and more. All visitors aren’t allowed to trek without Permits from Uganda Wildlife Authority which is an institution that manages all Uganda’s National Parks and only on in charge of providing All kinds of Gorilla Permits in the Country.  Meaning all tourists who are into trekking Gorillas have an Obligation to purchase their Gorilla trekking permits months before the day of Trekking without fail to allow them to be able to carry on with this activity. Trekkers should note that Double Gorilla trekking Permits are costed differently from the usual Permits. a normal gorilla trekking permit costs 800 dollars for Non-residents,700 US dollars to foreign residents, and 300,000 Ugandan shillings to East African citizens so it means the gorilla double trekking permits will cost 1400 dollars to foreign residents, 600,000 Ugandan shillings to East African Citizens and 1600 dollars to non-residents. These double gorilla trekking permits can be acquired through your trusted Explore Rwanda Tours operators or from the Offices of the Uganda Wildlife Authority and booking should be in advance or earlier (3 months to) before the trekking day since the permits are very limited. There are no limitations on the number of permits on can purchase since the Uganda Wildlife Authority allows one to purchase as many trekking permits as possible depending on the availability of spot. And each permit allows you to trek one group per day.
