Day 1: pickup and golden monkey trekking in Rwanda
As early as 4:00 am, you will meet your guide for the safari at an agreed location of your choice and then make your way to Volcanoes National Park. On reaching the park, you will head to the reception area, where you will embark on the briefing session for your golden monkey trekking experience in Rwanda. You will be assigned a guide and a ranger to ensure a safe and informative safari experience. After the briefing session, you will embark on a hike through the Virunga Mountains, which will give you access to several rewarding attractions, including the diverse bird species, such as the Rwenzori turaco, an Albertine endemic species. You will also have the chance to watch several attractions, like the primates like the Mona monkey, vervet monkey, black and white colobus monkeys, and many more. When you get to the habituated golden monkey troops, you will spend an hour with the species, understanding more about their behavior in the wild. You will take pictures of the species and after the safari experience, you will head back to your lodge for relaxation and later in the afternoon participate in the community tour where you will visit the ibyiwacu cultural village, which will give park headquarters you the chance to understand more about the culture of the people of Rwanda through their dance and food, among other cultural practices. Day 2: gorilla trekking and departure
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will make your way to the park headquarters to embark on gorilla trekking in Rwanda. Just like golden monkey trekking in Rwanda, you will be assigned to a ranger and guide. With the safari experience, you will hike through the forests along the Virunga mountains and when you get to the gorilla family, get to spend an hour with them understanding several different features of the species like the fact that the dominnat silverback has all the mating rights with the famales in the group, you will watch their feeding patterns and how they harvest fruit among others. Connect with your guide and make your way back to Kigali city, where you will be dropped off at a location of your choice, and this will mark the end of your 2 days Volcanoes National Park safari.
